THIS SPENDING LUNACY MUST END
Three weeks or so ago Wisconsin Senators (All Democrats) left their home state and took refuge in Illinois to prevent a vote on Governor Walker’s plan to help solve Wisconsin’s money problems. They took advantage of the rule that says that, for bills that require the expenditure of money, a quorum must be met that includes both parties.
And the debates continued in the press at large, and of course, on the Internet. But there could be no actual vote on the bill without at least one Democrat present, and they stood steadfast.
But yesterday the Republicans, through committee, drafted a new bill, removing the spending parts, but included, among other things, such matters as removing collective bargaining rights for public workers, and the requirement that state workers contribute 5.8% of their salaries to their pensions, and pay 12.6% of their health insurance cost — a pay cut of about 8% of their salaries.
An 8% cut in pay is quite a lot, that’s for sure; but considering that they still will receive benefits that far exceeds the national average, they are much better off than if the state goes bankrupt and must lay off many workers.
But that’s not what I want to discuss here.
The main complaint of the missing Democrats is that the Republicans pulled a fast one by not giving them time to go back to Wisconsin and sit in on the committee meeting.
Now if I were Governor Walker, I’d make a proposal to the Democrats: I would not sign the amended bill if they were willing to return to Wisconsin and debate, and vote on the original bill. How do you think the Democrats would respond? Would they accept? Of course not — they’d rather leave things the way they are, so they could vilify the Republicans, and especially Governor Walker.
Not only do I think the reading of our Constitution by the 112th Congress is great, it should be made part of the opening week with every Congress!
And it should be done by a joint session of the House and Senate!!
After all, who could think incoming Congresses would be making a mockery by reciting the very piece of legislation that formed their very bodies?!?
Enough is enough! Your adding “The Dream Act” to the Defense Bill is the last straw! You should simply resign your seat in the U.S. Senate!
Calling it “The Dream Act” is unconscionable! It calls for trespassers who are unlawfully in our colleges and military to aquire amnesty, and apply for U.S. Citizenship!
Adding this to our Defense Bill is at best unethical, to the point you should immediately step down from the U.S. Senate!
Believe it or not, my Liberal counterparts, economics is ALL “trickle down”!
That’s ALL there is!
Those who have “trickle down” to those who don’t!
You, my dear Libs, simply feel “trickle down” is best done by government
taking the monies from those who have it, turning around, and “trickling it down”
to those who don’t have it, and then telling the don’t haves,
“See, we’re the ones helping you!”
The reality is the monies are still “trickled down” from the private sector
because they’re the ones with it!
Your economic scenario simply adds an unnecessary, costly layer to “tricke down”!
Conservatives, let’s stop concerning ourselves with President Obama’s faith. It doesn’t matter one iota. We need to concentrate on his actions, not his religion. The sooner we do the better.
That said, let’s get on with electing the most Conservative candidates in every office, regardless of town, county, parish, state, or federal position.
NOTE: This has been updated to reflect the entire 2010 fiscal year! Revisions will be made and noted as the budget reports are modified by the Congress and U.S. Treasury.
No matter which source we turn to, whether the Mass Media or the Internet or even our local newspapers and magazines, they always show figures of our Federal Deficit against the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and this is misleading. The GDP is our nation’s production, not our Federal Government’s income. So, when our Government measures its deficit against the nation’s GDP, it’s as if when needing a loan, we would tell a bank our debt was against what the company we work for (or own) made this year, not what we made. And when looking to give us a loan, banks don’t ask how much our company made, but what our income is. And our Federal Government’s income is its tax revenues.
So, the following shows our Federal Government’s income versus excess spending beginning with the 1950′s thru 2010.

Since the beginning, our country has grown larger and better until it reached it’s apex in the last century. It doesn’t matter exactly when it happened, or whom is to blame, but the current government is obviously out of control. With the democrats in charge of the presidency and both houses the current trend is hurting us all, and the future is bleak for our children and their children. Now I’d like to toss an idea out there (which of course will never come to fruition).

L.A. is asking for a boycott of Arizona business. What a laugh! This city has one of the worst records of police misconduct in the country and is choosing to lecture on legal matters. Are they so invested in illegals as a source of cheap labor? Or is it that they hope to increase the Democratic Party’s voting base. (more…)
